Eco School

Welcome to the Eco school section of our website. Here we will keep you up to date with everything we are doing as part of the Eco schools N.I. programme. Through the Eco Schools N. I. programme we will be working to achieve our Bronze Award, Silver Award and the prestigious Green Flag Award. Check in regularly to hear all our news and see our progress.

We are so excited to have achieved our Eco-Schools Bronze Award - this is a very important milestone on our journey to attaining our Green flag.

Central is an Eco friendly school!

Our Eco Committee were delighted to be presented with a waterbutt from NI Water to help us water our outdoor learning garden! We can't wait to start using it!

We have been so pleased to be able to harvest some of our vegetables and taste them!

September 2021

Our new P5s had the opportunity to become members of our Eco Committee this week. They each spoke to the class about why they felt they should be a part of this important school committee. We were very impressed with what they had to say. A secret vote was held and the two children who were voted to become new members of our committee were....Emma Patterson and Daniel Cullen. We look forward to hearing all their ideas at our first Eco Committee meeting of the new school year in a few weeks time.

Below you can see photos of our day spent planting our Outdoor Learning Garden.

Check out www.eco-schoolsni.org to see the official photo and article about the start of our project.
